You have reached the home page of Patrick Barta. I am a psychiatrist in private practice with an office in Towson, Maryland, and I also do research at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

2010-03-08 Phishing alert: If the domain name in your browser's address bar doesn't have my name in it, then you are looking at a spoofed version of my site. I guess that I should feel flattered to be in the company of big-time websites like Bank of America and so forth, but there is one other site on the Internet which is spoofing this website in an attempt to phish passwords from it. Since there's only one person who ever logs in here (me), this is a futile effort. I've reported the site to the domain registrar (ename.com), but ename.com (which is a Chinese company that doesn't respond to any emails) has not taken the fraudulent phishing site down. I've also reported the site to Google so that it can be removed from Google's search engine. (There are certain advantages to having one's own name as a domain name in a case like this.)
